SportyTrader has created and studied 48 indicators for use in selecting the best bookmakers. By analysing these 48 indicators, we can assess the quality of a bookmaker according to a punter’s 6 most important criteria. Each criterion is awarded a score of between 1 and 10.

• Financial solidity and reputation

A bookmaker’s financial solidity shows its capacity to honour its commitments to its customers.

Analysing this factor involves studying the bookmaker’s profitability and solvency. In particular, it includes analysing its business model and studying the company’s financial reports.

We also pay particular attention to the licences held by the bookmakers and to their reputation within the betting community.

• The quality of financial transactions

The most important qualities for any internet transaction are speed and security at the lowest cost. To show you where to find these qualities, we have analysed the speed and cost of financial transactions, along with the types of encryption technology used by bookmakers.

• Website quality

Punters need a website that is fast and easy to use, allowing them to place their bets in complete peace of mind. We have reviewed all of the bookmakers’ websites before judging their quality.

• Customer service

Does the customer service department really respond to the customer’s needs, both quickly and efficiently? Does the bookmaker offer a bonus for new customers? To answer all of these questions, SportyTrader has performed an in-depth analysis of the different bookmakers’ customer service departments.

• The level of odds

We have studied and compared the level of odds offered by each bookmaker for the most popular sports over the last 12 months.

• The range of bets offered on the website

In order to really make the most of his or her betting account, a punter must be able to bet on the sports or events which he or she knows best.

We have analysed the range of bets provided by each bookmaker in terms of the different sports and types of bets offered. We have also paid particular attention to the range of live betting opportunities and betting on British sporting events.

• Overall score

Our overall score represents our assessment of the quality of each bookmaker. It results from our study of 48 quality indicators. SportyTrader pays particular attention to the financial solidity and quality of odds offered by different bookmakers. Therefore, we have overweighted these two criteria when calculating the overall score.
