Football : Premier League Finale: The Champions League Race

The final weekend in the English Premier League is here and while the jigsaw puzzles have already fallen in place as far as relegation and the title are concerned, one battlefront that will be taken to the final day will be that of the top four.

One of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal will for sure miss out on the Champions League. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have already sealed their places in Europe’s elite tournament while Arsenal, could still rise to the top four but their destiny is outside their hands and will hope Manchester City loses heavily or Liverpool drops points.

Arsenal takes on Everton who are sure to finish seventh and the Londoners will hope to give all for a win. Heading to the game Arsenal have won each of their last four, and lost the fifth. They will want to bank on their home record that has seen them win each of the last five, and scoring 10 while conceding just once. They have the FA Cup final to think of but this is also an important game for them. Everton on the other hand, have managed two wins in the last five games and will be very wary of the poor form they have had away from home, failing to win in the last seven matches. Arsenal have won four of the last five meetings with Everton and they stand a good chance of winning this as well.

Liverpool to win at 1.11 with Bwin

Liverpool takes on Middlesbrough who are already relegated. The Reds know anything less than a win will be detrimental to their Champions League ambitions. This will be a highlight game on Sunday and going to the game on the back of three wins in the last five, Liverpool have no margin of error. Their last five away matches have also yielded three wins and they will be favorites facing a team with just one win in the last five and winless in the last 18 away matches. Head to head the two sides have met 121 times and Liverpool have won 56 while Boro have won 31. The Reds are highly tipped to win this clash.

Manchester City will be the other team followed keenly on the final weekend. They will be taking on Watford away at Vicarage Road and will have to win to keep their top four place. Watford head to the game on the back of five straight losses. The club’s manager Walter Mazzari has already declared he will leave and the team stands a very low chance of stopping Manchester City who are unbeaten in the last five and have won each of their last three. The teams have met 15 times before and Watford have won four while Manchester City have managed twice that in wins. Manchester City have won each of the last five matches against Watford and heading to this game, the likelihood by a big percent is that they will stretch the same to six.
